My husband loves this product. It was easy to install, and he has mounted his fishfinder to it. It functions like it’s supposed to in a great value for the money. He has not had to remove it from his kayak so I can’t comment on that, but it was easy to put on, so I assume it would be easy to take off. Highly recommend.
Easy to install on my kayak works great. Good quality
Overall, this was good value for the price. I used this mount to hold my Garmin striker vivid 4cv.Good things: the telescopic arm is surprisingly sturdy. I rigged the mount up so the arm was hanging fully extended into the water off the side of a motorboat, going 10-15mph in choppy water and it still held up with no slipping. The adjustment knobs for the transducer even held their position under all that bouncing and force. I've never had a problem with the ball mount slipping or moving position.Bad things: my main complaint is that the various adjustment knobs really interfere with each other during positioning or installing/uninstalling the mount into the kayak slide track. I find this pretty irritating when I'm setting everything up on land and extra irritating when I'm trying to make a slight adjustment out on the water in my kayak. I often find that making a small adjustment takes a bit of messing around with it, using both hands. When adjusting, take care to not loosen the knobs too much as the screw may come out entirely. I am also not a fan of how the entire mount needs to be rotated to install/remove it from the slide rack - again, all the knobs seem to get it the way and I have to readjust everything.Additionally, I wish the telescopic arm was just the tiniest bit longer. This part is probably mostly an issue due to my particular setup, but I find that the arm is just short enough that the transducer comes out of the water in slightly choppy water, resulting in an interrupted signal.Despite the drawbacks of this mount, I have to say it's pretty great for the price.
Surprisingly guilty tough. Works well and the adjustments are good.
It’s great for kayak fishing.
