Mounted this on a flat deck boat surface to hold a 10-inch Humminbird, and it��s handled both calm water and moderate chop without shaking the screen loose. The dual-joint arm gives you more range and finer control than typical ball mounts, especially when you need to swing or tilt the screen quickly based on glare or seating position.Installation was easy, and the build quality is solid, full-cast marine-grade aluminum with a powder coat that��s held up well against saltwater. So far, I��ve not noticed any flaking or rust, and the included mounting hardware has stayed tight. Adjustment knobs give good tension without needing to over-crank them, and the pre-drilled base plate with screws and bolts matched up with my bracket without modification.You could use this on a kayak, but it��s on the heavier side and best suited for boats with space and a stable base to drill into. The extra weight does translate to better stability, though, and it absorbs a lot of screen wobble that cheaper mounts struggle with. If you��re running a larger display and want something you can install once and not mess with again, this mount doesn��t move, doesn��t rattle, and keeps your gear secure.

I have several other mounting items from this company already in service on my fishing boat and my kayak, and I've found them all very good. This one is no exception. Unlike the single-arm version that I have used, this has a double arm with a hinge point between the halves, extending both the reach and the flexibility. There are only two (horizontal) degrees of freedom, making it very rigid in use. Angling the finder is done via its own bracket, not this mount. It easily accepts my 9" finder bracket.The base is larger than the single-arm version, to allow for the extra moment from the extra length, so it may not easily fit on all kayaks (which it is really significant over-kill for), but it is great on a flat boat surface. Stainless hardware (bolts/nuts or screws) is provided for anchoring down the base. This is very solid when the hinge points are tightened down, and it provides very good support for the instrument. This is not cheap, but it is a good solid investment.

I have a Humminbird Helix 7 depth finder that I need to mount on my Lund Alaskan. I was excited to order this dual joint adjustable mount; it is the solution that I was looking for. The all aluminum construction, 10 inch reach, and 360 degree rotation are the features that I appreciate the most about this mount. It fits perfectly in the mounting location that I selected on my boat; it provides the access and function that I want to with my depth finder.I am impressed with the design and materials; the construction is high quality, and the powder coat finish is durable. The articulating joints are strong, and dials easily adjust the tension; I have no concerns with them staying tight and keeping my depth finder in place when I am in choppy water. It is a great bonus that stainless steel mounting hardware was included. This mount is the perfect solution for my oversized depth finder, and I am incredibly pleased with it.

This adjustable fish finder mount is pretty awesome! It is made incredibly well, very heavy duty, made with precision, and no shortcuts were made in the construction of it. High quality materials are used in this for sure. It has tons of flexibility in being able to adjust at multiple junctures, so you can do just about any angle you want, it just doesn��t adjust vertically. I have a small center console boat with a Lowrance hook reveal on it and the way my helm seating is, it was kind of a pain to get to my plotter/fish finder, so this gave me a lot of relief being able to adjust it and pull it out closer to me while I��m steering so that I can easily access it. Please not that it does not work with a 5�� Lowrance hook or eagle because they do not come on a swivel stand�� I was able to make it work with my original base, but the 5�� or smaller models aren��t designed the same way�� might work with other brands, but not with Lowrance. You can make it work with the original, but just know it��s got to be installed a little wonky�� I��m good with it, but just a note of caution for those with the same model. Awesome product, but is a little pricey.
